Transitioning to school?

Where to start?

We offer transition support to all our clients upon request. It is crucial to initiate the school search process at least 18 months before the intended commencement.

Schools require sufficient time to complete paperwork and make additional assistance available for your neurodivergent child right from the beginning. This process can be quite lengthy.

When searching for a suitable school, it is important to consider several key factors. We are here to assist you with the search and advocate for your child if necessary.

The following school systems should be taken into consideration:

  • State School
  • Catholic
  • Private
  • Special

While there are many other options available, the aforementioned systems represent the main schooling choices.

It is also essential to consider your child as a whole. A comprehensive analysis, incorporating input from parents, therapists, and reports, will be conducted. Schools will be recommended based on individual needs, area preference, and budget.

Please note that state schools have catchment areas, and if you reside outside the designated catchment area, admission to your preferred school may not always be guaranteed.

When contacting us, please provide a list of several schools that you may have already considered (if applicable).
